July 2009 - Australian Government business portal goes live with Funnelback search .
The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR) business portal, www.business.gov.au, is the latest high profile Commonwealth agency to use Funnelback search through the Whole of Government AgencySearch program sponsored by the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO).
Mr. Mike Sibly, General Manager, Online eBusiness Services for DIISR said, “High quality search results that deliver better business outcomes coupled with lower ongoing management overhead associated with administering the site search are key outcomes achieved by this change.”
Mr. Stuart Beil, Funnelback’s Executive Director said, “Search on www.business.gov.au now features not only results from the business portal itself, but also from content contained across all Commonwealth, State, Territory and Local Government websites. This type of tiered search allows the user to localise their requests and ultimately provides a much better and more personalized search experience.”
“For example, by entering your postcode in the search form, results from your State or Territory and Local Government will appear, thus providing personalized search results”, said Mr. Beil.
